2008 Nicolette Christopher Cabernet Sauvignon

Print
Three and a half tons of Cabernet Sauvignon was crushed on September 5, 2008. The 2008 was sourced from two vineyards; cane-pruned Cabernet Sauvignon from the Guiliani Vineyard in Yountville (farmed by Mike Nunez) and Clone 7 from Mataya Vineyard in Calistoga (farmed by Brian Penterman). Only 3.5 tones of fruit were crushed, then aged 22 months in French barriques, one third new. 229 cases were made.
2008 opens enticingly with warmth, cassis, dark berries, rosemary, vanilla and baking spices and continues to build on the palate with plums, red cherry, cocoa, truffles, and caramel. Richer and more dense than the 2007, it maintains a refined expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
